This week's nominees are: Dave Banks, Rob Benton, Max Kravitz, Jon Nook, Eric Persichitti and Buddy Wolfe. VOTE NOW! All fans can print a coupon for 20% off at Mrs. Fields/TCBY as well!

Look to the Cookie!

6.22.2009

Power Players

Voters turned out in record numbers last week and enormous support was there for Anthony Valentino, whose 5 HR output and army of voters gave him the win. Valentino wins a Big Cookie Cake from Mrs. Fields in Richmond Town Square, and hopefully will share with his more loyal supporters! His name goes on the Banzuke for the first time.

Check out this week's nominees here! Jason Fifik had a big week in Mayfield Village, pushing him to #3 on the Player of the Year Chase. The Fifik name always brings the voters out, so our other worthy candidates have their work cut out for them. They are: Current top female player Colleen Bernard, M. Geballa, Aaron Kreiger (#8), Mo Pennington (#87), and Jon Scott (#68)

A New #1

6.19.2009

For the first time all season a team other than Euclid's Miller Lite sits at the top of our Men's Power Rankings. The Miller Lite team, which finished 5th in the year-end rankings last season with an 18-2 record, suffered its first loss of the season, a 12-1 defeat to Bohica Softball, currently ranked #16. That opened the door for SPC/Nager/AMR of Mayfield Village, who improved to 10-0 this week. That figure, based on the strength of their league, makes them the new #1 team.

There are only 7 other undefeated teams remaining. Steve's Sports (#4) has been beating up on the JRC Sunday Night competition but has a potentially tough foe upcoming in Atomic Dogs. The Third Place (#5) has 3 of their 10 wins coming by 4 runs or less and only 2 blowout wins, while their daytime counterparts Lakewood Village/Larry are also 10-0. Ohio Sports Park has a Pepco team that in two leagues has combined for a 13-0 record. As long as they keep winning they are sure to rise in the rankings.

2008 Player of the Year is Week 5 Power Player

6.15.2009

A spirited debate this week with several worthy contenders, but Jason Fifik's perfect 7-for-7 took the award. Fifik is our second Mrs. Fields winner. Don't forget to print your 20% off coupon!

We apologize for the delay in posting this week's Power Player candidates. They are now up and you can vote now. The nominees are: Steve Birkholder, Todd Boyland, Keith Kludnick, Nolan Shenkelman, Anthony Valentino and Buddy Wolfe.
